Bob, I installed the new stock today. When I ordered it I figured it was overpriced by about $100. I was certainly wrong about that. Worth every penny of $200. I am very impressed by the quality. I was skeptical about the strength claims but now that it is installed I can believe it. Very very solid and no rattle. As a former soldier and current LEO I have been using M-16/ AR-15's for more than 15 years and think they are very fine weapons. I have always been disappointed by the durability of the stocks and the way they are mounted to the rifle. Even the standard A2 stock and especially the carbine style stocks. I have actually seen A2 stocks broken in the field. The SOCOM stock is a serious improvement. I'm surprised they are not being used more widely. As far as I'm concerned every m16/M4 the military has should have one on it as well as every SOU or patrol rifle. I will be showing mine to everyone I know that uses these types of weapons.
